OAKLEY, Ill. (WAND) — A Macon County family celebrated a big milestone for their family farm on Saturday.
The Bork family gathered around a commemorative sign to take family photos and celebrate over 100 years of owning their farm.
Dennis Bork said his grandfather bought their current farm in 1924 when his previous land was bought to make Lake Decatur.
"I'm the third generation farmer. My dad and my uncle farmed it and worked in town," said Bork. "My son and my grand kids are here, so there's going to be five generations on this farm some day."
Bork said his parents are getting older, and their health is becoming a concern, so he is glad they got to gather for a family photo now.
