TOLEDO, Ohio — There was a rainbow everywhere you looked in downtown Toledo on Saturday.
And while the sun was shining for much of the day and rain came down, the rainbows were actually a sign of Toledo Pride .
Thousands of people marched down Adams Street starting at noon to show their support for the LGBTQ community.
Although Pride Month is in June, Toledo Pride holds their annual three day celebration in August so as not compete with bigger cities.
The first Toledo Pride was held in 2009, making this year their Sweet 16.
“When you come out to a Pride and you see thousands of people here supporting, it helps remind you that these people are out in your day-to-day life as well and that you are surrounded by love and acceptance,” said Liam Vella, owner of Support the T.
