OREGON, Ohio — One of Toledo’s biggest summer traditions, Barefoot at the Beach , returned Saturday for its 24th year, raising funds to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Toledo.
The event, considered one of the city’s best beach parties, featured live entertainment and more than 30 restaurants offering food and drinks. Proceeds from the evening help fund programs for thousands of local children.
Musician Dennis Jaworski, who has performed at the event for more than a decade, said he is still amazed by the turnout.
“You know, being able to come out here and perform for this amount of people, and to have the turnout that they do, and be able to come out and at the same time raise funds and let everybody have a great night — you get to sleep well when you get home at night,” Jaworski
