A Timmonsville man is accused of being part of a dogfighting conspiracy, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

Saquan Emanuel Brown, 27, is charged with:

■ Nine counts of animal fighting or baiting

■ Three counts of criminal conspiracy

■ Six counts of ill-treatment of animals

SLED alleges it has evidence of Brown agreeing to fight dogs and wagering $300 on one male pit bull-type dog.

The agency also claims it has video of Brown and a co-conspirator "standing over the dogs as they fought, encouraging the fight and repositioning the dogs to reengage as desired."
