MORGANTOWN -- West Virginia's football team conducted a scrimmage of about 80 plays on Saturday that served as something as a dividing line between camp season and the final two-week run-up to the season opener against Robert Morris.

Outside receivers Jordan McCants, Christian Hamilton and Cyrus Traugh all received mention for big plays among the outside receivers, which had been somewhat lacking in a previous scrimmage.

"There were a couple of really good contested catches for touchdowns, and some really well-thrown deep balls," Mountaineers coach Rich Rodriguez said. "They did make a couple of plays."

As has been the case through most of camp, Rodriguez evaluated the play of the team as "good and bad", with up and down showings on both sides of the ball, with a younger group on defens
