Minnesota Twins starter Pablo López continues to make progress in his recovery from a strained teres muscle in his right shoulder, and he ramped up his workload Friday by throwing two simulated innings at Target Field.

“I met all the objectives by maintaining the velocity I had today in the first and second innings; I was between 93 and 95 [mph]. The pitches were moving the way they were supposed to,” the native of Zulia explained in statements to MLB.com. “Everything felt good with the mechanics, the execution, attacking the zone, that mentality. So, I think everything is fine. I wanted to check all those boxes.”
