WASHINGTON — Thousands of go-go music lovers flocked to Fort Dupont Park on Saturday to celebrate the Godfather of Go-Go Chuck Brown.

“Music can bring people together. It’s nothing like go-go music,” Chuck Brown’s son, Wiley Brown, told WUSA9.

The District celebrated its 11th annual Chuck Brown Day under the pall of a federal crackdown.

President Donald Trump says the influx of federal officers and National Guard members is an effort to rid the city of crime, but it has exacerbated tensions between municipal and federal officials.
