EAST POINT, Ga. — One person has been arrested after two young girls were injured during a road rage shooting on Friday morning in Atlanta, according to police.

Atlanta Police Department officers said that around 9:15 a.m. the girls, ages 8 and 13, were grazed by gunfire after a minor crash escalated into violence on Highway 166 westbound. The children's mother, who was driving the car, pulled into a gas station at Main Street and Knotts Avenue in East Point to get help.

Police said no one else in the car, including the mother and another teenager, was physically hurt.
