IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa City High School’s football program hasn’t advanced past the first round of the playoffs since 2021. They’re looking to change that with a strategy similar to when they got to the UNI Dome in ‘21.

“Five years ago, when we got here, we took a team with two sophomore quarterbacks to the dome. This year we have three, arguably with more skillsets,” said head coach, Mitchell Moore.

Kane Willey, a senior defensive lineman, said that each QB has a different style of play.

“One’s a runner, one’s a passer, and one can combine both together. We’re just looking for that leader at quarterback.” said Willey.

The Little Hawks believe they can utilize all three to catch teams by surprise and to play to their strengths.
