AMES, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa State redshirt senior defensive lineman Tamatoe McDonough will continue a 12-year tradition, switching his jersey number to 58 to honor late defensive line coach Curtis Bray.

Bray died from a pulmonary embolism in 2014. Since then, one defensive linemen changes his number to 58 to honor Bray. He wore that number while playing at Pittsburgh.

McDonough transferred from Yale after a four-year career with the Bulldogs. He was named All-Ivy League in 2024.
