A Coventry takeaway has been told to make 'major improvements' after its hygiene measures were found to be substandard. AFC was handed a one-star hygiene rating by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

Hundreds of Coventry businesses are inspected each year and scored on food safety and hygienic food handling. Other factors taken into consideration are the facilities and whether systems are in place to ensure good food hygiene is maintained.

Officials from the FSA visited AFC on King William Street in Hillfields in May. CoventryLive understands they identified major failings in the way food safety was being managed.
