This weekend's series between the Chattanooga Lookouts and Montgomery Biscuits is a homecoming for Baylor School alum Cooper Kinney. It's been four years since Kinney was drafted 34th overall by Tampa Bay out of high school.
The former Mr. Baseball award-winner has spent this time grinding through the minor leagues and his journey has finally led him back to the Scenic City.
Kinney is currently ranked as the 17th overall prospect in the Rays farm system. In his first year in AA, Kinney is leading Montgomery in home runs, RBI and slugging percentage.
Earlier this week, he and the Biscuits hit at his old stomping grounds which was a surreal experience for the former Red Raider.
Kinney explained, "They let us over there so we could get some work in. It was awesome getting to go out there
