SAN FRANCISCO — The Rays rallied late to beat the Giants for a second straight night Saturday, this time 2-1.

Yandy Diaz knocked in the tying run with two outs in the eighth, and Brandon Lowe followed with a single that put them ahead.

The Rays improved to 61-63, winning three straight games for the first time since June 24-26 at the Royals, which was the end of their majors-best 25-9 run.

They also won their third series on the marathon four-city 12-game trip across 14 days that will end Sunday. They had won only one of their 10 series before this trip on which they’re 6-5 and hadn’t won two straight since late June.

Closer Pete Fairbanks allowed a leadoff single but hung on for his 22nd save.

The game was scoreless into the sixth, with both starters throwing well.
