After a lengthy rain delay that lasted over three hours, Orlando City (13-6-8, 47 points) overcame a sloppy first half to defeat Sporting Kansas City 3-1 on Saturday night.
Both sides looked threatening at times, but it was the MLS East fourth-place Lions who emerged victorious in the MLS match thanks to several excellent performances off the bench.
“Important, win, I would say. A very good first 10 minutes, then pretty bad 35 minutes, and then very good 45 minutes, if it’s to summarize the whole game,” Orlando City defender Dagur Dan Thorhallsson said. “Very good second half.
