HANCOCK — Copper Shores Community Health Foundation and the Houghton/Keweenaw Suicide Prevention Coalition will host the ninth annual Suicide Prevention Walk from 1 – 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept 13 at Ray Kestner Waterfront Park in Houghton. The event is free to attend and open to all community members looking to learn more about suicide prevention, connect with fellow advocates and honor lost loved ones.

“When we’re feeling healthy and happy, we’re able to participate more and connect more with other individuals,” said Callisto Cortez, Copper Shores Outreach & Education youth development specialist. “Connection can make all the difference in someone’s life and mental health. Allowing a safe space to talk about how one is feeling is what makes suicide prevention possible.”
