WASHINGTON COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - Owners at Mad Greek Deli on NW Union Road say they’re facing an uncertain financial future after a thief hid in a restaurant broom closet until the restaurant was closed and made off with the restaurant safe.

Manager Jacob Marks said it happened Thursday night.

He found out about it through a phone call the next day.

“I just got a call from one of my employees that they went to pull the drops out of the safe, and the safe was gone,” Marks said. “And I mean, I have 20 5k cameras all around the building. Pulled the video and found out what happened.”

Marks saw a man, posing as a patron, enter a restaurant broom closet. The man waited in the closet until employees closed the restaurant for the night.
