Kate Bush once walked through this ancient woodland located just a couple of stops from Canary Wharf . Beautiful carpets of springtime bluebells, shark teeth from millions of years ago, the mysterious medieval ruins of a 12th century monastery and a veteran Mulberry tree are just a few of the highlights in Abbey Wood Park, where there are also at least six hidden wood sculptures.

Just under a thousand years ago, this is where Monks would have been healing the sick, bee-keeping and growing teeth-whitening herbs. While I hadn't taken my shovel to dig up shark teeth, I did spend a couple of hours utterly engrossed and enchanted on my Saturday stint of woodland bathing. Not to mention, clocking up at least 16,000 steps.
