Leeds United kick-off their Premier League campaign under the lights at Elland Road on Monday - a repeat of the 2000/01 campaign.

That day, United won out 2-0, thanks to a first-half brace from Alan Smith. Leeds would finish fourth that season, qualifying for the UEFA Cup. This time around, a mere 17th place would be suffice.

Since the Premier League split from the EFL in 1992, Leeds have played in 15 top-flight seasons. United have opened their Premier League campaign at Elland Road in eight of them - and attain a good record too.

They have gone undefeated across all opening fixtures in the Premier League when handed a home fixture and have won on five occasions - including the last time, a 2-1 triumph over Wolves at the start of the 2022/23 season.
