Drinking a pint might put you over the limit as a result of the new limits being suggested

Following the Department for Transport's recent announcement that the drink-driving limit will be reduced for the first time in over half a century, we're examining how much alcohol you can consume before exceeding the new limit.

Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander is reportedly considering several plans, including reducing the drink-drive limit in England and Wales from 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath to 22 micrograms.

This adjustment would align both countries with Scotland, which lowered its drink-drive limit in 2014, and the rest of Europe, where no other country has such a high limit .
