CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was killed in north Charlotte early Sunday, police said.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a reported assault at the intersection of Hillsboro Avenue and Lambeth Drive, which is just off North Tryon Street and Eastway Drive. CMPD said the victim died at the scene.

Detectives haven't released any further information. It's unclear if a suspect has been identified or if any arrests have been made. The victim's name hasn't been released at this time.
