*After Saturday’s action, the Red Sox’ chances of making the postseason were at 88.2 percent according to Fangraphs, and given that the next closest team in the American League (Cleveland) stood at just 20., the Sox look to be in good shape with six weeks remaining in the regular season.

But while qualifying for the playoffs would be an accomplishment in itself and would snap a four-year postseason drought, the Sox shouldn’t be content with just getting in. Instead, everything should be done to gain home-field advantage.
