EAST WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — An overnight crash in East Windsor on Sunday killed a 27-year-old man, police said.
The accident happened at 12:30 a.m. on Rye Street. Officers found Jared Charette lying unconscious in the roadway and suffering from multiple injuries. His vehicle, a Ford F-350, was found down an embankment a short distance up the road.
Investigation determined that Charette was travelling northbound on Rye Street when his pickup truck crossed the centerline and struck a nearby guardrail. Charette’s vehicle went on to overturn, and he was ejected from it.
Medical, fire and police personnel conducted extensive life savings measures, but Charette was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Charette’s vehicle was carrying a diesel cell that was slowly leaking fuel down the embankmen
