ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A swimmer is safe after multiple agencies responded to a report that they were in distress at the St. Augustine Inlet.
Officials with the St. Johns County Fire Rescue, St. Johns County Marine Rescue, St. Augustine Fire Department, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, St. Augustine Police Department, Florida Fish and Wildlife and U.S. Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville responded to the area at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Lifeguards entered the water to help the swimmer as marine and air assets began searching for the swimmer.
Authorities located the swimmer about 3/4 of a mile offshore and was rescued by St. Augustine marine crew. They were reported uninjured and brought back to shore safely.
