DES MOINES, Iowa —

One more day of the intense heat and humidity is expected today before scattered storm chances overnight help to bring a slow cool-down for the week ahead.

Another very warm and humid start to the day across the area as temperatures only dipped into the mid-70s this morning. Some thunderstorms have been ongoing across portions of Minnesota and Wisconsin but that rain should stay north of the state today, just sending some clouds into northern Iowa this morning.

Sunny skies can be expected elsewhere quickly heating things up. Temperatures will be back into the upper 80s by Noon, with afternoon highs in the low to mid-90s. It may be a degree or two "cooler" today compared to yesterday, but the overall impacts this afternoon will be
