After the Department for Transport's recent announcement that the drink-driving limit will be reduced for the first time in over 50 years, we're examining what this means for how much you can consume before exceeding the new limit.

Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander is reportedly considering several plans, including reducing the drink-drive limit in England and Wales from 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath to 22 micrograms.

This adjustment would align both countries with Scotland, which lowered its drink-drive limit in 2014, and the rest of Europe, where no other country has a higher limit.
