A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a car that was being driven by a 16-year-old boy in Colchester, Vermont, on Saturday night.
Colchester police and fire departments say they received multiple 911 calls around 8:52 p.m. reporting a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Malletts Bay Avenue near the intersection of Young Street, and were told that bystanders were performing resuscitation efforts on the victim.

Emergency crews took over lifesaving measures once on scene, but the male pedestrian was pronounced dead from his injuries, police said. The victim's name has not yet been released.
Police are also withholding the name of the boy who was driving, due to his age.
Malletts Bay Avenue was closed to traffic
