NEW YORK -- Three people are dead and nine others wounded after a shooting at a New York City lounge early Sunday.
"We unfortunately will have to mobilize a mass shooting plan," New York City Mayor Eric Adams responded during a press conference.
The shooting happened just before 3:30 a.m. local time inside at the Taste of the City lounge in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Immediately, numerous 911 calls came in to emergency responders.
Within minutes, officers arrived at 903 Franklin Avenue, finding that nine men and three women, ranging in age from 19 to 61, had been shot.
Three men died. One man, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other men, 27 and 35, were critically wounded and succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
