(KFVS) - We could see the hottest temperatures of the summer today!

Meghan Smith says heat advisories are still in effect today through Tuesday across the Heartland, with highs reaching the upper 90s this afternoon.

While most areas will stay dry, a stray shower or isolated storm is possible in the afternoon.

Looking ahead, expect more of the same hot and sunny conditions to start Monday and Tuesday.

But we are tracking a cooldown coming soon.

A cold front is expected to move through the region by Wednesday, bringing increased chances for showers and storms by mid-week.

After that, you can expect temperatures to drop back down to average.
