The Orioles are not messing around this weekend, huh?

For the second time in as many days, the O’s are promoting a much-heralded prospect to the majors, purchasing the contract of catcher/first baseman Samuel Basallo — the Orioles’ #1 prospect, and the eighth-best in all of baseball per MLB Pipeline — from Triple-A Norfolk. The announcement comes just one day after the Birds promoted their #3 prospect, outfielder Dylan Beavers, who debuted yesterday in Houston and collected his first major league hit.
