Jurrien Timber was told to cut back on his holidays by Arsenal this summer.

The defender followed a strict fitness regime as he recovered from ankle surgery.

As part of his rehabilitation, Timber was given his own private fitness expert from the Gunners' medical team.

The Netherlands international has since recovered from the operation.

Timber featured in his side's final two pre-season friendlies against Villarreal and Athletic Club.

However, he starts on the bench for the trip to Manchester United on Sunday.
