A monstrous Ayrshire man, jailed for attacking a tiny puppy over 70 times in three hours, has been slammed by the Scottish SPCA.

Daniel Murphy , of Prestwick, appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Friday, August 15, and was sentenced to nine months imprisonment.

He was also given a lifetime ban on keeping animals, with no appeal available for 10 years, after pleading guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to his one-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier, Buster.

The beast was caught after setting up a 'pet cam' to watch Buster while he was out. The video showed him striking the pup with an iron and bottle, and cruelly pouring liquid over his head. Buster was helpless and petrified - he was left with a broken bone and a severely swollen face with deep cuts.
