Scottsdale doctor promoted to Chief Physician Executive role at Optum

Dr. Stephen Traub has ascended to Chief Physician Executive at Optum Arizona & New Mexico.

The Scottsdale doctor joined Optum Arizona after two years as CEO of ProHealth Physicians in Connecticut, a part of Optum.

According to a press release, Traub has 20 years of experience in leadership in Emergency Medicine, including 10 years as the Chairman of the Emergency Medical Department at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Traub estimates he has treated more than 50,000 people in emergency medicine throughout his career thanks to his expertise in poisons, drug overdoses and toxicology.

Traub has degrees from Stanford and Harvard and has been married for 24 years. He currently lives in Scottsdale with his wife, two sons and two dogs.
