SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) - Lincoln County deputies responded to a two-vehicle injury crash involving a motorcycle Saturday night at 9:48 p.m.

According to a press release from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened on 271st Street, east of 477th Avenue.

Crash investigation reports that a white Chevy Equinox was heading west on 271st Street when it slowed down to avoid an animal on the roadway. A red Kawasaki ZL 1000 was also heading west and rear ended the Equinox.

The driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the bike and landed in the ditch, sustaining minor injuries. The motorcycle operator was subsequently cited for following too closely.
