Clemson football's offseason hit turbulence this weekend after tight end Ian Schieffelin, a former Tigers basketball standout, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Schieffelin, who spent four seasons as a key contributor on Brad Brownell's basketball teams from 2021-25, joined the football program this spring to use his final year of NCAA eligibility on the gridiron. Now, his late-career transition to football begins with an off-field setback.

Head coach Dabo Swinney addressed the matter through a statement to TigerNet's David Hood via a team spokesman, saying Clemson will follow its established policies:
