CONCORD – The biggest change at Garnet Valley this year may not be who’s on the field, but who’s no longer calling the plays.
Longtime offensive coordinator Rich Boyd stepped away after 19 seasons last fall, leaving a legacy built on a ruthless triple-option attack that has tortured Central League and District 1 defenses. Now, the keys belong to Matt Burba, a 2017 grad who’s been on Eric Van Wyk’s staff the last three seasons and has been elevated to OC.
“That is going to be the biggest difference,” said Van Wyk, who begins his fourth season at the helm. “We are excited to have Coach Burba be our new offensive coordinator.”
