For more than 20 years, a dedicated group of volunteers have made it their mission to send life-saving medical equipment to countries all over the world, and now that story is being shared in a new book detailing their dedication and success.
“It’s just a story of Thunder Bay and district people and how they’ve changed the world and saved so many lives,” said Liz Harvey-Foulds, author of the book Dreams, Prayers and Miracles: Celebrating the Story of MEMO Ministry, which she wrote with her father Jerome Harvey.
The book was officially launched at Café Ora on Thursday, which included a signing by the two authors.
MEMO, which stands for Medical Equipment Modernization Opportunity, began 23 years ago when Jerome Harvey, a medical doctor, travelled to Cuba to volunteer.
