SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A woman from Springfield hosted a golf tournament in honor of her late wife Sue.
Over 60 golfers from the community joined Tamara Gemme-Crawford for her 'Swinging for Sue' golf tournament. This past November, Sue passed away after an 18-month battle with metastatic uterine cancer.
In honor of her heart and legacy, 'Swinging for Sue' was born, as she would often play golf before she passed. The tournament raises funds for the Cancer House of Hope in Springfield, providing free services to cancer patients and their families.
"Sue absolutely loved golf, we played golf all the time," Gemme-Crawford said. "It was one of her passions, and there's no better way to honor her than to come out here to the golf course where we belonged and played for years."
