SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Over 100 cats are competing in a two-day all-breed championship cat show in Springfield, hosted by Nauticats, an affiliate of The International Cat Association (TICA).

The event features dozens of breeds vying for various categories and divisions, judged by experts based on breed standards and cat presentation. The show embraces a Dr. Seuss theme, reflecting the local heritage and adding a playful atmosphere to the competition.

"This is our first time back in the Springfield Hartford area since 2019," said Christian Sherau, Northeast Regional Director of TICA. "We like to do fun themes and keep it lighthearted, so we said, 'Let's embrace the Dr. Seuss heritage in the area.'"
