FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The City of Fort Wayne is making progress on a plan to invest in the southeast side of the city.

The plan was created in 2020, but initial conversations were plagued by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We were kind of charting new territory in terms of trying to move forward with a plan but without the ability to meet in person as much as we would’ve liked to,” said Jonathan Leist, City of Fort Wayne Director of Community Development.

In 2021, the plan was adopted into Fort Wayne and Allen County’s All in Allen Comprehensive Plan.

The Southeast Strategy is a 10-year plan and includes $2.086 billion in public and private investments, with much of the money coming from Google’s future data center on Paulding and Adams Center roads.
