An 18-year-old Connecticut male was killed after being shot multiple times on a street in the early hours of Sunday, according to police.
Police officers who were working a bar detail shift heard gunshots in the area of College Street, between Crown and Chapel streets in New Haven, just before 3 p.m. Sunday, according to New Haven Police Department Public Information Officer Christian Bruckhart.
Bruckhart said the officers ran to the area of the gunshots and found an unresponsive male, later identified as Dillon Cornelius, 18, of West Haven, “laying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.”
Officers immediately rendered medical aid until medics arrived on scene, Bruckhart said.
