ST. LOUIS COUNTY — A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle Friday night while walking near a dangerous stretch of road for pedestrians in north St. Louis County.
The woman was struck near the intersection of New Halls Ferry Road and Sugar Pine Drive around 9:30 p.m., according to a news release issued Saturday night by county police. She was taken to an area hospital, where she later died.
Investigators say the woman was in the roadway when she was hit by a motor vehicle. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation. Police did not release any other details.
