The owners of a hookah lounge in Harker Heights were indicted last week on a felony charge after being accused of selling tobacco without paying taxes.

Thaddis Deonte Clark and Jana Delores Polk, both of whom are 31 years old and from Killeen, each were indicted on a third-degree felony charge of cigars and tobacco products tax violation.

In June, both Clark and Polk posted bonds of $10,000, and were released from law enforcement custody.

The Criminal Investigative Division of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts began investigating Club Toxic on April 28, upon receiving a report from the Harker Heights Police Department that the business was an unpermitted tobacco retailer.
