Dozens of people are included on a list of potential witnesses filed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office ahead of a murder trial this week.
The defendant, Michael Anthony Howard, was indicted on June 15, 2022, on a first-degree felony charge of murder. Now 20 years old, Howard was 15 on May 31, 2021, when he allegedly shot and killed 16-year-old Jaquan Tahja Davis in Killeen.
Howard’s case was transferred on April 6, 2022, from county court to district criminal court after he was certified by the county attorney’s office to stand trial as an adult, according to court records.
Howard was booked into the Bell County Jail on Aug. 13, 2022, and was being held with a bond of $500,000, on a murder charge.
