CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) -- Authorities said on Sunday that a Cleveland husband and wife died and two of their children were injured in an Orange County crash along Interstate 85/40 on Friday afternoon.

The single-car crash happened Friday just before 1:20 p.m. on north I-85/east I-40 near U.S. 70 at mile marker 161, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and N.C. DOT reported.

The wreck happened when a 2018 Honda Odyssey went off the highway to the right, hit several trees, then went down an embankment and hit a large tree, Sgt. Tyler Tucker with the N.C. Highway Patrol told CBS 17 on Sunday.

The person in the front passenger seat, Maria Nunney, 50, of Cleveland, Ohio, died at the scene, Tucker said.
