LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - After a dangerously hot weekend, the main weather story will shift from that intense heat to the possibility of severe storms.

That chance begins Sunday evening with northeast Nebraska under a slight risk for scattered severe storms while much of the state is in a marginal risk for isolated severe storms. Damaging winds are the main concern though large hail is possible too.

A lower but more widespread risk is in place for wind and hail on Monday as well.

Storms begin this evening to the northwest and then shift to the east and southeast as the night progresses. Much of Monday will likely be dry with another round later into the day.

Meanwhile highs climb into the low to mid 90s once again Monday.

That could be the last day above 90 for the rest of the forecast
