BOISE, Idaho — A young girl sustained a minor injury on the Viper ride during opening day of the Western Idaho Fair. There were no other injuries.

"The safety of our guests is our top priority, and we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of ride safety and operation at the Western Idaho Fair," said Sean Butler of Butler Amusements.

According to Butler Amusements , the girl sustained a small abrasion to her arm and was treated on-site, with no additional medical care required. She and her family returned to the fair the following day.

Butler Amusements immediately removed the Viper from operation following the incident. The ride had been inspected by independent ride inspectors prior to the fair's opening.
