WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A man accused of injuring two D.C. police officers by crashing an ATV into them was arrested Saturday by the U.S. Marshal's Service (USMS)

According to USMS, Gerard Stokes, 30, of Greenbelt, Md., was wanted by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) on a charge of felony assault of a police officer for an incident that occurred on March 14.

MDP says officers tried to confront a group of ATV and dirt bike riders near a gas station in the 1400 block of 14th and U Street NW when Stokes allegedly accelerated his ATV and aimed it towards officers, striking two.

Both officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

According to the USMS, one officer was struck head-on and dragged roughly 15 feet as Stokes drove
