CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A Waldorf man is facing several charges after he allegedly shot at another driver during a road rage incident last month, leaving them injured.
Deputies arrested Robert Simms, 36, of Waldorf on Aug. 5 in connection with the shooting after executing a search warrant at his home, where they found a handgun with an obliterated serial number, according to the sheriff's office.
It all started on July 10, when the victim was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Billingsley and Middletown roads. As the driver was sitting at the light, Simms rode past him on a motorcycle and fired several rounds from a gun, according to the Charles County Sheriff's Office.
