POWDER SPRINGS – Hillgrove's offense and defense fed off each other Friday night against Mountain View, which was what the coaching staff wanted to see.
Other than a barrage of penalties, the Hawks didn't do much wrong in clinching a 46-7 decision over the Bears at Cobb EMC Hillgrove Stadium.
Hillgrove's defense held Mountain View to 94 total yards and only two first downs in the first half. Its defense also shut down the run, holding the Bears to minus-3 yards, and forced three turnovers in the game.
Meanwhile, Hillgrove's offense managed to come away with points on nearly every drive. The only concern was that the Hawks were flagged 10 times for 95 yards, most coming in the first half.
