KENNESAW -- Zach Belyeu’s three-touchdown performance helped propel North Cobb to its 15th straight regular-season win, 28-14 over Archer on Friday at Emory Sewell Stadium.
It took nearly the entire first half for the Warriors (1-0) to get going on offense, but once Belyeu found the end zone for the first time with 1:39 to play in the second quarter, there was no looking back for the sophomore.
Belyeu finished the night with 101 yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries, while his counterpart, Quavy Echols, added an additional 97 yards.
“I had to trust my blocks,” Belyeu said. “I had to do what was right, had to control the game, keep my composure, stay calm. My team did well, the defense had it down for us. We had to finish it. Finish it like a team, like a family.”
